To be completely dependent on your luck when playing poker, and sometimes slot games, can have adverse affect on your winning chances. Therefore, it is recommended that you make yourself aware of certain well-known poker tips and tricks. One such important trick involves studying your opponents’ reaction.

To become a smart poker player you should learn to read your opponents’ reaction. By keeping a check on your opponents’ expression, you can get a hint about whether they are holding good or bad cards and then plan your move accordingly. Amateur poker players display some obvious and easy-to-read reactions when they look at their cards.

If your opponent is holding a bad card, he/ she may keep staring at his/ her cards for a longer time than usual. This is when you can consider betting medium-strong hands. In case your opponent has a good hand, he/ she will have a look at his/ her cards for a relatively lesser time and then quickly look away. This is when you should not call or bet in case you have marginal hands.

Remember, studying the expressions and reactions of your opponents wisely, you can predict their hands. Therefore, when you fold early, it is recommended that you use the time to study the reaction of your opponents.
